Kibombo hydropower station in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (hereinafter referred to as Congo (Kinshasa)) is located in the upper reaches of Inkisi River in Kongo Central province. The dam site is about 110km away from Kisantu, 215km away from Kinshasa and 350km away from Matadi port. The control drainage area of the dam site is 8175km2, and the average annual flow of the dam site is 109m3 / s. The maximum storage capacity of the reservoir is 59.4 million m3, the normal water level of the reservoir is 735.0m, the dead water level is 734.0m, and the regulation performance of the reservoir is daily regulation. The installed capacity of Kibombo power station is 246MW, and the annual average power generation is 1189GWh.
The power station adopts the mixed development mode, and the main buildings mainly include: barrage, power generation and diversion system, plant buildings (shore type ground power house, GIS switch station, auxiliary power house, etc.), owner's camp, etc. The dam crest is 309.11m long, the dam crest elevation is 739m, and the maximum dam height is 34.5m. The water diversion system is arranged on the right bank and adopts open channel water diversion mode, with a total length of about 5.8km. The diversion structure is mainly composed of dam body intake, head reinforced concrete open culvert, diversion open channel, forebay and penstock. The power house of the power station is located on the terrace on the right bank of the river channel at the tail of Kibombo centralized water drop section. The rated head of power generation is 175.5m, the design reference flow of power generation is 155m3 / s, and three vertical shaft Francis turbine generator units with a single unit capacity of 82mw are installed. The buildings in the plant area include main power house, GIS switch station, auxiliary power house, etc. The total construction period of the project is 54 months.
